On January 19, 1977, Old Man Winter paid an unwelcomed visit to residents of Miami, Florida (yes, Florida, not Ohio) and brought along a surprise gift -- snow! For the first time in the history of the extreme south of Florida, snow danced through the air and dusted the ground briefly. A quarter century later, the scene has not been repeated.

"The coldest temperature ever recorded in the city of Miami was 31 °F (-1 °C) on January 20, 1977. That same day, scattered snow flurries hit the area, Miami's first and only recorded snowfall since weather records began in the 1830s."

yep... i was there in 1977 when it happened... but it was minor absolutely nothing severe..... but it must seem shocking that it ever happened. I doubt it will ever happen again though considering global warming and everything else.
