I have the same service. When this started happening to me I tried the same things and called customer service. They told me to do the same thing to 'reboot' the unit. It started to get worse and then it ERASED all my saved programs. Then it continued to act weird and not record things until finally the hard drive failed. I think what is happening to your unit is the beginnings of HDD failure and you may want to watch/record to VHS/DVDR things you don't want to lose. Then take the unit back to TWC and they should replace it, like they replaced mine.

These DVR units use a hard drive inside to hold the recorded programs. Just like on a PC, these hard drives can stop working or work intermittently. I have had two of these boxes fail in three years from Brighthouse. This is a pain because you do lose all of the recorded programs when this happens. Each time this happened I took it in to Brighthouse and they replaced it with another, refurbished unit.
You need to call the cable company that you rent it from and they will replace it. This should be no charge since it is a rented box.
Don't try to change the drive yourself since it is a rented box and owned by the cable company. If it was a Tivo or other box that you own, then you can find instructions on the internet on how to replace the drive.

is it full of previous recordings? delete any that might be taking up the recording space. change the remote batteries. since you've already rebooted, if those don't work, call Time Warner. They may have a website with a help section.
