What is an easy way to get this manifold to slide on??

i assume you are using the "rubberband" manifold that is correct for that year. on my '85 i found that putting one band on the front head and the other on the manifold (with just a tiny smear of lube) they can pop right on. the stock harley intake clamps work better than most others and need only be tightened with a screwdriver. putting the mounting bracket on first may help hold the carb in place, but it might interfere with moving things around.

Hmmm.....should fit pretty easy. I have a '72 Ironhead. Are you sure the manifold will fit and ironhead sporty ???? I have an S&S super E for mine. Are you running stock or aftermarket ? I would say that if it doesn't line up and go on, it may not be the right one.

Good luck.

attach mounting bracket to carb first slide one piece clamps over carb ports and use vaseline on rubber seals lift carb into position and hand tighten bracket onto block then slide carb into position with rubber gaskets in place slide clamps over rubbers and hand tighten one at atime then tighten with proper wrench one turn each side until snug
