This is a very generalized question. I am married and would never expect my wife to "sit at home".
as for those who do, it is a societal tradition that a man is judged by how well he takes care of his family. until that changes, then the other will not change.

How many times do you see an under-employed married man (or an unemployed father) and, no matter how much money the wife makes in the relationship, and no matter how much he does around the house, how many immediately see him as a "loser" or a "deadbeat dad"?

the problem is that these societal beliefs are so ingrained within each of us that they won't be going away any time soon. There is an extreme double standard placed on men in our society because of this. we are expected to be exclusively providers and protectors, and we are expected to be able to provide enough that our spouse has a choice to work or not, but if she chooses not to, we are somehow being overbearing.

It doesn't necessarily mean that the husband has an ego problem. Sometimes, it's just to make sure that there is a responsible parent present when the kids are being raised.

because of the unavoidlble ego..they thinks they're the only one who can show up in every business.....
