I lost my ps1 memory card and I want to play FFIX(ps1) will I be able to save/load games with a ps2 card or will I have to find my ps1 memory card?

no it doesnt even when you want to save it will sat no memory card even though you have the ps2 memory card (find a store that sells them cheep like gamestop or some store that sells used games.

The memory cards are formatted differently and the game engines are almost completely different. (Although they are similar enough to allow backwards compatibility). Technically it can't be done, however a friend of mine did somehow manage to get a FF8 save onto his PS2 memory card. I didn't believe it at first but there it was, a little picture of Squall surrounded by 3D icons, it was pretty cool.

Actually, as long as you play the game in the PlayStation 2 console then I don't see how it could hurt to try. Just start the game and save asap to check it out and save time.

I don't think it can be done. I've tried it and failed. Sorry. It's a brilliant way for Sony to make more money.
