My computer says windows is running out of space and items need to be deleted to make more space, I go under start,C:,and right click on properties and the pie that shows is full. I have already done a deleting of temorary files under system tools, and a defragmentation, and that hasn't helped free up alot of space. Does anyone have any more suggestions or things I can do to solve this problem? Also, I deleted all the programs off the computer I don't use.

Thanks

One thing you can do is go into my computer then right click on the c: drive and go to properties and click that then at the bottom of the window that pops up you see a little box that says "compress drive to save disk space" click the box next to it and hit apply and that should save some disk space.

Cleaning temporary Files won't free up your disk space if it does then also Hardly 5% of Space.... so you'll need to uninstall all the programs that you installed in Drive Where Windows Was Installed (normally C drive)....

Warning... if your system Spce get's too low System Restore Feature won't be available!

Start by running some spyware programs. They could be sucking up your disk space. Then, if you have a lot of media on your computer - songs, pictures, etc. - that will take a lot of space. You may want to burn some dvds and get that off your computer. Next, get more memory.

Scan for virus
Remove more programs that you don't use
Defrag your system
Make sure that windows can decide how big your swap file is!
In control panel under system then advanced manage swap file
Get a bigger hard drive
You can never have enough hardware
The more hard drive you have the more you save...I have a 200 gig with 150 gig stored.
Got to get to that housecleaning...oh maybe one more question!

Try clicking on:
Start --> Programs --> Accessories --> System Tools --> Disk Cleanup

It will probably take a while to run, but you'd be surprised at how much stuff it can find. Plus, it's free!

Check these folders and delete all contents and empty recycle bin.

C:\windows\temp
C:\winnt\temp
C:\documents and settings\username\local settings\temp
C:\documents and settings\username\local settings\temporary internet files
c:\windows\wutemp
c:\winnt\wutemp

Also, open internet options from the control panel, or right click the internet explorer icon and select properties and click the delete files button on the first tab.

Lastly, run ure antivirus software and scan 4 viruses.
