Thinking of going to Maldives when is the best time to go and which is the best Island to stay on.Would like over the water accommodation. Is it expensive and what is there to do. Do the staff speak English and how long is the flying time to get there? Were they hit by the Tsunami?

Anytime's great but it gets very, very hot during the summer months and there is a rainy season too but it's slightly cooler then - depends what you prefer. All the islands are exquisite and the accommodation and costs vary hugely. I was there a couple of years ago and we paid less than £1k each for all inclusive accommodation. Everyone speaks English and from London Gatwick it takes 11-13 hours depending on whether you fly direct or not. They were hit by the Tsunami but not as badly as other places and I don't believe tourism has been affected too much. There is absolutely nothing to do there if you don't like the water. If you do it's heaven on earth!
