Use uTorrent instead of Bittorrent and make sure the health of the torrent is good. I mean there should be a good number of seeders and peers... and also limit the download and upload to unlimited (default value will be '0').

try running a newer computer, or buy a faster network card to hook the modem up to, or you still have a pone line hooked to the computer and you are actually not using the cable modem at all.

it is base upon peer's and seed's speed if you want to completely utilise bit comet try downloading two or more files simultaneouly
