I have a Dell Axim X3 that I've basically never used. Until recently it has been in storage. It gives me a message that my backup battery has failed. I called Dell and they said I would have to replace the whole unit. Hopefully, someone out there can tell me how to fix this problem without replacing the whole unit.

I am pretty sure that as long as the main battery is charged you don't need the backup battery. It's there just in case your main battery should fail.
