My ex husband went and got himself tattooed every where on his body. I mean everywhere, his face, neck, shoulders, torso, back, ***, legs, ankles, arms, hands, fingers...and other places that I no longer have to look at.
He looks like a joke. I'm serious. When he's walking around it's like looking at the Sunday comics suddenly coming to life and walking toward you.

I had always wanted a tattoo, but I waited until I was nearly 30 before I got my first. Why? Because even though I REALLY wanted one, I couldn't decide what "design" I liked enough, and which meant enough TO me, to have on my body forever.
My first tattoo was a celtic knotwork shamrock (I'm half-Irish). I had it placed high up on my arm so that I could show it off with sleeveless shirts, but still also keep it covered with short sleeves for work, interviews and things of that nature.
My second and third are both Egyptian symbols. I've been obsessed with all things Egypt for years. I chose them because they mean something to me.
I don't regret any of them.

I love my tattoos. I have 7, and would like 2 more. My only regret is the pain some of them put me through. Other than that, they were well worth it.

I personally have 9 rather big pieces and I dont regret them one bit.
I think they whole key to it is not following a trend..if ya do it..do it cos YOU want to, not cos your peers or some lame *** celebrity has a cool style..do it for you, and you only.
I have only one friend who openly admits to not liking any of her tats..now, a lot of it has to do with the times in her life when she got them..kinda negative associations, but most everyone I know wants more..Just be careful..dont get it off the wall from some flash someone drew..maybe get the artist to make one that says something about you.

i got a tattoo on my foot about 1 1/2 ago that said elf. it meant something special back then but then all hell broke lose and i had to get it covered. btw, it was not about a guy...anyway, i do like how it came out covered and i still like it...my husband has 6 and i think they're sexy. all of them can be covered in a regular shirt and jeans so it's not trashy. i want another someday and i'm sure i'll want them covered someday too. it's just a phase i guess...

Good:
-they look pretty cool
Bad:
-getting a tattoo hurts like hell!
-you may regret it later, like when you're 50 & up
-it's fashion; this year you're going to love it and maybe even the next one you're going to regret about your decision
-some people, when they see a tattoo think that you're unmature and scum, etc. so if you tattoo it somewhere where everybody can see it -- you may: not get a job for that, be refused to go out with someone when you're older and stuff like that...
I hope I helped with your decision. Now you help me with those 10 points! :)

If you wanna get a tattoo it better be something that you would like to look at for the rest of your life cause to remove it costs a lot of cash and not all tatto's can be completely removed. It causes damage to that area as well when u opt to remove it.

Tattoo pro's - If they re done right and by a good artist then they can be fantasic works of art.
They are also a good way of expressing your individuality
Cons - They are with you for life and if they are badly done it can look atrocious.

Oh i dunno. It's against my religion (Judiasm) to get a permanent tattoo. but besides that, it's sort of unnatural for people to ruin their bodies like that. also I would be afraid to do something to myself that I can never change.
But on the other hand I could see the artistic side of it, and Henna tattoos are cool.
If i were you I would do a Henna tattoo. they aren't permanent and I've seen some really amazing designs.
