I watched it intermittently in the sixties. Did they ever get back to Earth or was the series just cancelled leaving them errr Lost in Space?

no. They are still in "Lost In Space" tho I think Will Robinson made it back to Earth in one episode before rejoining his family.

Nope. The poor Robinson family never made it home. Strangely, there never was a popular resurgence of the show, except for the movie starring Joey from Friends.

nope after it's 3rd Season in 1968 the show was cancelled and it was shown in reruns still today and it was made into a really bad movie i think there was a short lived animated series as well
