Scientists all around the world are striving to get the message out: "WE ARENT GOING TO LIVE HERE FOREVER." Earth is and has always been doomed to destruction, whether it be asterionds, nuclear war, or even genetically engieneered Viruses. Tell me if you agree with The colonization of other worlds, such as the moon, mars, and even other places in the universe. I feel it is very important to make our mark in the universe and live as a species for ever. Tell me what you think?

While I agree with other people here that we should take better care of our planet, eventually the Earth will be destroyed. Even if all comets and planet-killing asteroids miss us, the sun will eventually expand into a red giant and engulf the Earth. Though that isn't likely to happen for possibly another billion years, it will eventually happen.

That being said, the more planets that we as a species inhabit, the greater our chance of survival. Especially when we consider the possibility of colonizing other worlds in distant solar systems. The endeavor will not be an easy one, and is indeed not possible at our current level of technology. However technology may eventually advance that allows us to traverse great distances of space in but a few moments, perhaps through the creation of artificial wormholes. Maybe we'll be lucky enough to see it in our lifetime.

Oh yeah for sure. But there is no hurry, we have 7 billion good years left before the sun melts the earth. In terms of my existence that is forever and then some. So really I dont care. Most people don't care about leaving the world in a fit state for there children let alone preparing for the 300 millionth generation to split. I think science is more about why we are here rather than where we will end up.

I think we should make more effort in rescuing this planet instead of going elsewhere to f*ck things up there as well. For as far as I can see we are our own biggest enemies, not some asteroids. We can go to the moon and beyond, but we can't take care for our own planet.

I don't think it is so important for the universe if men exists or not. It is important for us as a species, because every species has the will to survive.

No.

We explore space for fun.

There is now and never will be any real prospect of colonising other worlds in other solar systems.

As a solution to the world's problems - short and long term - its about as productive as praying to stick god's wearing a silly hat.

But space scientists have to justify their absurd level of funding somehow.

This is not, of course to say that space travel is not worthwhile - the pursuit of knowledge is often worthy, and can lead to unexpected benefits, and the space program has led to many technological advances that are very worthwhile.

I feel that we will eventually be in space, and that it will eventually provide for the continuance of the human race should a disaster befall Earth. I think we are far from having the ability to be able to sustain the human race in outer space, with no support from Earth, but that day will come.

what do you think about evolution? the unique quality of humans like space exploration , biotechnology researches and evolutions according to the situation may make mankind some thing in the universe.

if we make the earth better then we dont have to move off. any way so far we can't live anywhere else, even if we did we'd just destroy it.
