There are and were other planets/moons that have volcanic activity.
Mars
Mars has the remnants of the largest volcano mountain. The volcano would be the size of Arizona. It is not active at the moment. See the first link below for more information.
Io - Moon
The recent Galileo trip to Jupiter revealed that its moon Io is very geologically active. In its flyby back in 2000 it detected 10 new volcanoes. 81 volcanoes have been observed on Io. See the second link for the CNN story.
Nevertheless, there are some other geologically active objects in our solar system. There are certainly other objects that are active in the universe.

The sun is not a volcano.
Io, one of the large moons of Jupiter, is covered with volcanos. Mars has some extinct ones, and there are volcanos on Venus as well, but not too many active ones.

i think ive heard one of saturn or jupiter's moons is volcanic. yeah, they can happen on any hard surfaced planet that is molten rock underneath the crust
