Sometimes it all comes down to the shape of your fuel tank. It mite just hold less at the bottom because it cones down.

Depends on the size of the tank and the vehicle. Most manufacturers like to give a cruising range of about 300 miles to a vehicle. So, a small car would have a much smaller tank ( maybe 12 gallons) a larger truck might have a 30 gallon tank.

The fuel in the car has weight, so heavier the car the slower it goes, so when the fuel is ¼th the capacity, the car will be lighter and faster.
