A true anaphylactic reaction is a systemic reaction, so you cannot treat an "area" and treat this kind of allergic reaction. IV fluids, benadryl and steroids will help in addition to epi. Not all alergic reactions or course develope anaphylaxis. A localized allergic reaction may be mitigated by using the benadrl, ranitidine, steroids and may prevent worsening of the reaction.

using topical medicines won't prevent a systemic reaction. Treating early reactions with benadryl orally and oral steroids like prednisone may however.
