Well I dont really see the point of the points to be honest except maybe that you have something to show for all the time you have spent on this!

It's just points & getting to a higher level. It's like a game, only better because you're helping others by sharing your knowledge.

well they have turned into a bit of a game havent they and in all games u have a winner. i think it was a good idea to use points as ppl are gonna keep comin here answerin questions trying to b the winner but i dont think they actually get a prize at the end so that could b a bit of a bummer.

Points are the biggest reason that there are so many stupid answers here. Not that it matters since 99.99% of the questions are trivial crap that is easily answered by typing a couple words in the search bar and hitting enter... This fad won't last nearly as long as "Supporting G.W. Bush" did.

I agree, there are people with more than 1000 points!!! they must be unemployed or have nothing better to do, but I have to tell you that I do like when my answer is chose as the best, not for the points but because they liked my answer.

well, we expect to get material rewards all the time for the things we do, but with the points you get in yahoo answers you cannot get rewards nor can you buy things, but the only thing those points are for is so that everytime you look at how many points you have you feel proud of yourself, which is also a reward, but it is not a reward that you can touch nor see, but instead it is a reward that you can feel inside you.
