The "good old days" is just a saying people use when things aren't going so well right now. Do what you want TODAY, enjoy all that you are doing, and someday you'll refer to the present as "the good old days". The good old days is just an expression used when people don't like something that is happening right now.

The "good old days" weren't the "good old days".
I've met South Africans who want Apartheid to come back, christianazis who want gays dead or back in the closet and want blacks in slavery again, men who want wife beating to be a "private matter" again, morons who think women shouldn't vote, etc.
Be glad you're living in this day and age. As time passes our ignorance goes down; the "good old days" are still coming.
