It's a WITCHKING STATUE from LORD OF THE RINGS. I need either a moulding to protect it or it's original box and polystyrene.

Put it in a polythene bag. take a larger bag, and some polystyrene beads (like bean bag beads) mix the beads with pva adhesive, put a good layer of this mix in the polythene bag, place the statue in its bag inside the first bag, then fill with the remainder of the mixture. Allow to set.....
This will give you a custom pack.... You could put the outer bag in a cardboard box, to gine you an easy shape for posting.

Go to a home depot or another hardware store. You can get a can of this foam stuff that is meant to fill in air gaps around plumbing for around $12. Spray a box about 1/3 full of the stuff, then lay a heavy plastic garbage bag over the top of it, and then lay the statue on top of hte plastic, pressing into the foam. Let it harden. Then take another garbage bag and lay over the top of the statue, and spray the foam on top of it, finally using a third bag to press down around the statue. A lot cheaper than having a custom made moulding. For extra insurance, you could pack that box inside a box with packing foam.

Most of those little shops that hire out mailbox space and mail packages for you can help with that. People also underestimate the value of packing things in cotton batting and then in a lot of fabric. Just some thoughts.

Sounds like more expense than it's worth,,, your way. I'd pack it in foam, especially acoustical as used in sound proofing. If it is already boxed, I'll assume that it's "packed"

Send where?

You can always BUILD a wooden crate, foam it and ship it by specific carriers other than USPS.

i would put it in a thick plastic bag and set it in a box and spray (great stuff) its a expanding foam in the box around it it will fill out the box and hold it in a foam mold...just rember the foam will almost triple in size after its sprayed in the box try a test first the can of foam shoul only cost you about $4 and the bag will keep it from sticking to the item
