You know, I think this is a cultural thing again. In my country we never care about that. Kids never ask to keep the lights on. I guess U. S. children see it on TV or hear it from a friend.

nope. i have to have it pitch black for me to sleep. i cover my window with very dark curtain, i cover my alarm clock with a towel, and make sure the hall light is off too.
