Enjoy every second of it. My partners pregnancy was marred becuase the hospital threw us some bad advice from time to time. They told us enough to be worried but not enough for us to make proper decisions. Unless it is something aserious then just relax. We really enjoyed the first 7 months before the doctors poked their noses in. Get a good pregnancy guide book to keep ahead of each stage so you know what to expect. preferably one with pictures and lots of detail so that you can ooh and ahh every week

Biscuits by the bed to nibble for morning sickness
Remeber that baby can hear you from 14 weeks
but stuff after 24 weeks (earlier if you want) babies cost loads and it's better to spread the cost.
involve your partner if he is around, it's great to share
get him to rub cocoa oil on the bump every night as it may reduce stretch marks, feels good for you and will help him bond fom very early on.

Don't be. You should be excited. Parenting will comes naturally. From the very first moment you see your baby everything will be just right. When the day come no one will need to tell you how to hold your baby as i said earlier naturally.Anyway Congratulation and Good Luck! Don't worry too much you'll be a good parent otherwise you won't bother to ask this question.Cheers!

Love it! Enjoy it! Discipline it!

I'm a daycare provider and the heard part is when you have kids who are use to getting there way at home. It makes it so heard on me. Just remember, you can be a good Father and still say no to your child. Also remember, for the first 18 years they will spend 50% of it hating you. But don't worry, they really will love you. And your child won't end up on yahoo Answers asking "I'm 15 how do I tell my parents I'm preg." www.clubmom.com is a good website (I'm sure dad's can go there to). Congrats on your first child and if you are ever on Kadena AFB then give me a ring for daycare :) My husband is in the Air Force we are in Okinawa, Japan.

yeah, throw your baby books out of the window! Take advice from other parents. Babies, unfortunately, do not come with manuals, and a book does not know your childs specific needs.

Relax, it will all come naturally. Stay active with your child, and be a positive role model in your childs life. Get excited when he see's a truck, even if its one thousand times a day. Enjoy your childs excitement.

And give him a peice of bread right before bed. His belly will be full and he wont wake up so early!

keep calm when the baby starts crying the more streed you get the more baby will cry
dont be affraid to let grandparents keep baby for a night you can use that time to catch up on sleep
babys are wonderful the eat sleep cry and poop
and you get to take care of them

Enjoy it!

I was terrified of how good a mother I would be, whether I'd cope etc etc... But you just do.

I wasn't sure I'd even know how to change a nappy, but when my baby was born it sort of came to me naturally.

I think instinct has a lot to do with it, protective instinct, paternal and maternal instinct..

Don't worry, have fun and live the experience, they grow up way too fast!

i was nervous too, babies dont come with instructions do they, however its amazing how insticts you never think you have kick in and guide you. i recomend a great book caled what to expect the first year by heidi murkoff, arlene eisenberg and sandee hathaway. it was my bible for a few weeks.but believe it or not it does come naturally. good luck and enjoy.

I was sared to death myself. Moreso of the pain involved. I made sure that my Doctor was aware of my fears, and she acted accordingly. Don't be afraid to ask for an epidural. Just Relax!!
