Ok, you're probably not going to believe me at first, but I'm 100% honest about this. Go frog gigging. Let me explain... You can buy gigs at just about any outdoor sports store. It looks just like a miniature pitch fork with barbs on each tine. Attach the gig to a broom pole. You go out at night (preferably with no moon) with a powerful flashlight (like a maglite), a friend, and your gig. Use the flashlight to scan around the bank of the pond up to 6" off the bank. Frogs' eyes reflect a red or green color in the light so you can spot them fairly easy. Give your friend the flashlight and sneak up on the frog while holding the light steady on their eyes - it temporarliy blinds them so they can't see you getting closer, but you have to be quiet. When you're within striking distance, slowly move the gig towards the frog until it's a few inches away and then thrust down as hard and as fast as you can to shove them to the bottom and run the gig through them. Pull up, kill the frog if it isn't dead, and pile them up to clean at the end of the night. Frog legs are delicious, and I'm sure you can find someone who wants them if you don't. If you get good enough and don't want to kill the frogs or if they're too small, you can catch them with your bare hands using this same method.

Put up a "Frog Legs Foe Sale" sign. That should get them hopping!

How do you know its overpopulated? Lack of food is natures way of taking care of the problem, you don't have to do anything.
You used to be able to donate spawn and tadpoles to your local wildlife trust, but with Red Leg spreading I don't think they do that any longer. Give them a ring and ask.
Your lucky to have them, UV light and disease is wiping them out.
