I think it is spelled Chernobyl and it is in Ukraine close to the north borders with Belarus. When the disaster happened Ukraine was part of USSR so many people confuse it and think that it is in Russia.

Chernobyl is in Russia and is the site of the nuclear plant which had an explosion and contaminated many square miles of the area with radiation some of which was even found in Wales.
