As for the civil war, they had a regiment of all black soldiers made up of african slaves, so technicly speaking they had help from the africans

That's a bit of a silly question really because for a country to be at war BY ITSELF, it would need to be either be the invader or the defender.
The US would never make an attack with absolutely no backing, cos that would really be political suicide. And I doubt any nation is going to make war on the US, cos that war will last about 35 seconds and will probably mean the end of civilization as we know it.

spanish/american war. war of independence was helped by the french. the civil war doesn't really count since we fought ourselves. iraq is being helped by the british and about a dozen other small countries. the last actual congressional declaration of war was for WWII. since then, it has just been conflicts. only 3 wars have been unassisted as far as i know. the war of 1812, mexican american war in 1846 and spanish american war in 1898.

the civil war the nited states defeated the rebel southern confederates without any help ... and the spanish american war though officially we had help from cuba and the phillpine rebels we had %97 of the expenses plus all the wars against the indians we had no help at all with them and do you see any indians around today huh? and the u.s. mexican war

Until Iraq, we never had help from other countries.and we are pretty much not getting any help now. We were the ones doing the helping. Korea is the first war we could regard as lost.
