I do believe that swimmers who swim for at least thrice a week can slow down their aging process thus swimming is the fountain of youth aside from healthy diet and a positive point of view.

swimming is the best and most complete exercise of all. You get strength, flexibility and a cardio work out. Not to mention the mental health benefits of being in the water. Of course it would keep you young! Any good non-impact exercise that conditions the whole body would keep anyone young!

Just remember though, youth is all in the mind. You're only as old as the person you feel.

Well Swimming is a low impact sport so it does help you maintain your health without strenuous work of the muscles. But this is true with a lot of sports. Being active prolongs your health by a lot compared to inactive people, active meaning exercising or participating in a sport minimum 30 mins at least 3-4 times a week. And of course maintaining a healthy diet. A man/woman swimming everyday for 2 hours but then goes home and eats a bucket of lard is not a healthy person and mostly likely will not help with extending their age.
So i completely agree that low impact exercise like recreational swimming, nothing too extreme, and a proper diet can most definately increase the life expectancy of individuals.

This is a very good anti-aging program I'm following: http://www.goobypls.com/r/rd.asp?gid=547

it's developed by Steve and Becky Holman and it's 100% natural: no drugs, no supplements, no gimmick. They teach how to slow the aging process. There are specific ways to move, eat and think that tell your brain to stop and even reverse the aging process. There are also things they you absolutely have to avoid if you really want to look younger and achieve your ideal body. More info on the site.

Swimming is healthy in so many ways, but it probably don't slow down your own aging process. If you were to swim in a pool with water that has various beneficial nutrients, I wouldn't be surprised if there is a noticeable benefit-longevity or otherwise.

I think swimming will keep you very fit so that you don't lose all the strength and other stuff associated with aging. Excercise in general will keep you young. But Swimming puts less wear and tear on your joints so that's an added boost.

Exercise like swimming does slow down aging. However, be sure to wear heavy duty sunscreen or you will look older than you are.
