Rave Master is action-packed(cool scenes) and funny.I feel that the show is better(in terms of art) than the manga.
Fruits Basket is more sentimental and also has an original storyline,and nice to read.Great Art as well.

Saber Marionette series is about a world where females have become extinct, so they invented marionettes(female doll/robots). In a smaller scale of the story, its about this guy who inherited 3 superior marionettes who are...well...just sexy.
Elven Lied is about this new form of beings with unseen hands called "vectors". Lots of bloody violence so its kinda cool.
Battle Royale is a classic. Anime adaptation of the old movie which just has longer time frame for killings.
Full Metal Panic is about a secret military guy sent to protect(?) a high school girl.
Neo-genesis Evangelion is about a future where aliens are threatening to destroy the world for whatever reason, and the world's self defense is a bunch of gigantic robots driven by kids

VG Fighters - fighter women battle against each other
Fist of the North Star- Some seriously violent s h i t
but i think its kinda hard to find them. Oh, Ghost In a Shell is good too.

I like Bleach and Death Note. Both of those are good, action-packed Manga and Anime. I also enjoy Yotsuba&!. Its a very cute and funny Manga about a four-year old named Yotsuba. It's definately worth readin since it will certainly keep you laughing. Full Metal Alchemist is very good, too. Though, I've only seen and read a short bit of it. Inu Yasha is good too, but it gets kind of odd sometimes.
