No, there have been about a zillion movies now. There are no more "new" ideas coming fast.
When the movies first started, they had ideas coming in like hail on a summer rain day.
Now, there have been movies of everykind. Movies on football, car racing, horseracing, golf etc. They are movies on action, adventure, thriller, horror etc etc.
Thus, now TV is more popular because you dont pay $9.00 per Tv show you see. Its only 29.99 per month!

It's not so much that. Tv has become a more lucrative market. It also allows an actor to really explore a role more fully than in a short two hour movie. Look at The Shield and 24.

Also, the money is insane if the show is a hit. Also, it fuels their ability to do more movies. Keifer Sutherland hadn't headlined a major film in years..thenthe Sentinal came out. Chiklis was in Fantastic Four, etc etc
