Plentiful places for honeymoon in India, but for a change go to Bangaram Island (1st preference) or Minicoy Island in Lakshadweep Islands. May be you will look forward to your 2nd honeymoon!!!

There are so many places in India to go for Honeymoon that it will be very difficult decision to choose one of them. This is evident from the answers above. Will try to summarize lil but then you may choose two three out of them and do more research.
Let me start from north of India:
1. Leh-Ladakh -
+ Untouched area, kool place, very less habitated, different experience.
- Not much things to see except surroundings, not very big hotels so stay may not be very comfortable
2. Kashmir
+ It is very nice place with lakes and plenty of greenery around
- Though have calm down a lot but still there are security hassles
3. Kullu Manali/ Dharmshala/ Shimla in Himachal Pradesh: +Good hill stations with calm and nice weather at this time and lot of tourist around
- Will be too crowded in summer and due to lot of tourist inflow will be costly.
4. Jaipur/ Jodhpur/ Udaipur (Rajasthan): + Historical places with lot of places for romantic moods. Well established tourism industry so lot of choices of hotel. Nice ethnic environment and great food to top on it.
- If rain is proper then it can be hot as desert area around. It is more of visiting place then honeymoon place.
5. Dehradun/ Mussorie: + nice hill station with very romantic surroundings. Well established tourism industry.
- Will be very crowded and costly now
6. Darjeeling: +Old tourist place and very nice environment and route to reach. Nice toy train to travel in
- may be crowded
7. Gangtok (Sikkim)/ Kalimpong: In vicinity of Darjeeling but are less crowded then Darjeeling. I like Gangtok very much
8. Ooty: Nice hill station in south India. Good hotels and area
- Crowded and costly
9. Munnar: Another good place in south India. In hills with coffee/ tea plantation around, really nice place.
- may be rainy at this time around
10. Lakshdweep: One of my other favorite: You can go on ship from Cochin which covers all islands of Lakshdweep so you stay in ship during night and visit islands during day. Ensure you pre booking and get deluxe cabins
- Sea can be rough in monsoon
11. Andaman: Another Island place. Good and enjoyable.
- Ensure that you have confirmed return booking to mainland.
There are many other unconventional one - Enjoy your honeymoon while doing trekking in Himalayas or go to a small village and see restrain of being together :)
