Personally, I just ask my household spirits to take care of things like that (I love my household spirits)

Normally, I would suggest a house cleansing (burning sage, marking openings with oil, ringing bells) but this sounds like an embeded ghost rather than a roaming spirit, so a basic cleansing might not work.

Some ghosts are like psychic echoes permently attached to a place or object. They are by far the most annoying of all paranormal phenomena. I've gotten ghosts out before, but it's not easy

First you need to locate the ghost. Next focus every bit of spirituality you can toward the ghost. Use a ring of candles, spiritual icons, idols, the bible, every spiritual thing you've got, focus it on the ghost. It is very important that your intent be to help the thing, not banishment. Banishment is negative, and your entire focus has to be positive. You are bringing all these spiritual things to strengthen it so it has the power to move on. You are empowering it. Have a dialogue with it, even if it feels like your only talking to your own internal dialogue, that's okay, and probably close enough to keep the conversation going. Obviously it feels like it needs something, so be supportive and sit with it. This is going to take several hours. It's got a lot to work through to get to the point where it is complete enough to no longer remain bound, so it's going to take time. It's going to want to connect to you because you're helping it and there's an emotional connection on its part, but you're not there for an emotional connection. You're like a councilor helping a client. You care, but you're not making a new friend. When it feels like it's ready, then you burn the sage, and cleanse your house and allow it to be free and move on, and feel happy for it that it's able to move on.

I like Toad's solution the best.

Ghosts cannot harm you but they can be scary simply because we have been taught that they are since childhood and also they seem to awaken a part of us which many people are not fully aware of and don't know how to deal with. It seems, from your account, that the 2 year old wasn't scared of the apparition or disturbed by it. This is often the case with young children and they should never be taught to be afraid of such things.

I have heard of people who accept a ghost as part of the household and almost see it as a friend.

You say that she has been seeing it for a few months. I wonder how long she has lived there without seeing it and, if, perhaps one of her children is around puberty.

I have never seen a ghost myself but I know people do, which is a very good reason for saying that they exist. *What* they are is an entirely different matter, of course.

Tell your daughter to go into the room that she sees the spirit the most, she will need to say a protection prayer" lord of light and love please protect me whilst i help the lost spirit to pass over to the other side" then she needs to close her eyes and imagine that she is in a Field of poppies they re blowing in the wind she can smell the delicate fragrance, over to her left she can see the figure of the person that's been visiting her, moving over to the figure she must explain that she is there to help ask the figure to follow her over to the middle of the field where there is a footpath at the end of the footpath there is a door you can see the light shining through from the bottom of the door ask the spirit to walk through the door to find peace. then your daughter will need to walk back the way she went and through the door at the right hand side of the field, she then needs to say another prayer thanking the lord of light and love for his protection and ask that he help the spirit on his way.

Get a live chicken and kill it in the room where she sees the ghost most frequently. Rub some of the chicken's blood in all four corners of every room of the house (even closets).
