I am sorry if you are still there.
But with me it was different. My parents have never left there place in my heart. The place where we all lived (my two brothers and parents) was the home. We lived together, we were happy and we were unhappy but what mattered was being together. We were not rich but we were educated. When my father died I was 19, if i had chosen to leave the place it would have left me guilty for the rest of my life. So I stayed. Then after 20 I became 30 and I was there. My younger brothers grew and got married. My mother loved us all. My own son was showered with love and care and it was fun living with all of them. Then my mom died when I was nearing 40. After that although we didn't move out, we were thrown out by one younger brother who wanted to own the house. Home was no more.
Its difference of culture also. In the East people tend to live together. There are problems but there is love which is heavier than all the problems. Now I live out of my parent's home but this is a house. Fancy, modern but its walls still don't bear memories of a childhood. Eastern cultures exude nostalgia. It may be difficult to understand but personal liberty has its own perils and costs.
Does that lessens your anguish:)?

I still live with my parents and I'm 17, but I want to be out by 23...
I was kicked out at 15 if that counts, it's just like moving out, except being forced...
