If you are too young, she's telling you the truth and truth can appear to be bitter at first. Hang on to true friends like her. You don't want friends that just tell you what you want to hear. The most ignorant ppl surround themselves with "Yes Men". Most ppl end up doing stupid things under peer pressure of the wrong kind and regret it later.

I had a freind like that in high school. My life revolved around her and basically she wanted me to ask permission if I went out with some one else. But yet we were best freinds and had a blast together. But 10 years later after graduation I have lost my freinds I had before her becuase they got sick of her. My best advice is to slowly but surely walk away from her and her control. Beleive me...it will get ugly. Good luck. It is not a healthy relationship

On one hand, it sounds like she's trying to protect you from getting hurt. In that case, she is trying to be a good friend. On the other hand she's trying to be "Little Miss Mommy", a name I call my daughter when she sticks her nose in where it doesn't belong. Tell your friend that she is not your mom and can not make decisions like that for you, only your mom can.
