Bill,

there are a few things that you can do to hide the scars or by slowly buffing them away. I know lots of cosmetics companies are selling skin buffing creams with a hand held machine that helps to do your own treatments for dermabrasion. they are more gentle and cheaper too. I know Beauti control sells a set for about $50.00 and is good for at least 10 treatments. sure beats the dermatologist at 200.00 a pop... you can go to their website and oder directly.. i do sell it...but i rather u just get help for this rather than try to make a buck off of ya...ok? take care and good luck...oh also important is to use a good skin care regimen daily for oily skin, and use a moisturizer as well..but make sure u cleanse, use a scrub only 2x a week and use toner and moisterizer daily with the cleanser....only use the scrub 2 x a week especially if u are going to use a dermabrasion product...
peace and best of luck...

I go to a place here in Hawaii. Its basically like a corrective facial. She goes and peels around 6-7 layers of your skin off your face. (This process doesn't hurt :) feels like she's rubbing off dried glue on your skin.) Then she takes out any white head or black heads that are hidden under those layers. (Unfortunately this hurts a little, she's popping a pimple.. .what do you expect)
I have to double check on what the process is called with her. I know they have offices everywhere. I haven't been going there long enough to show any drastic improvement. However my friend Lin has been going there for a while now and her skin is sooo much better. This place only charges $38 per session and it can be counted as a medical expense for taxes.

If your looking for instant coverup---depending on the degree of your scars I would go with a foundation from MAC then using Bare Essentials over that.

My scars are very minimal so I used the sheer liquid Mac foundation, then I used Bare Essentials foundation as a powder over it. Bare Essentials is good for your skin so as your scars lessen I would just switch to that. MAC is a great makeup however it is made for performers (kind of like Stage make up) so not good for Daily use, may make you break out.

Let me know if you need more info on the corrective facials, they really do work :)

Mary Kay makes this cover up that works great. But I have looked at you name "bill" and I am not sure if you want to use make up. My cousin also use a cover up that is light purple in color I do not know how it works but it does she has a lot of acne scars also. I think she gets it at Target ot Walgreens or some place like that.

Good Luck.

Acne Scars although very difficult to remove. It can be done. Take care of your skin, avoid sun exposure, avoid things that cause acne to flare up in the first place and last but not least topical application of salicyic acid or prescription retinoids ( over the counter is very expensive and it has a long treatment period) hope it helped.

I have acne scars very bad on my left check, I took and still do take Twin-Labs Cherry Cod-Liver Oil. Sold at all health food stores, cost bout nine dollars. It is a miracle, I can now wear only powder for daily wear. I take this product 3 X a week, 1 Tablespoon and drink a protein shake with it. I drink plenty of water also, eight, ten oz. glasses a day...stay off sugar ...and grease...wash my face in Lava Soap...rinse a lotta lotta times, and use Cetaphill lotion cause it is a light type fo product. The lotion I buy at wal-mart. good luck.....

Try Dermablend. You can find it at Macy's or order from it's website. Dermablend is really good at covering up scars, birthmarks, tattoos, etc. Hope this helps you. :-)
