Depending on how you drive (i.e. you follow too closely and have to break alot? or continue driving fast towards red lights?), you may be due for some new front brake pads. They often make a wretched noise when they wear down to force you to address the problem. I think it was just a coincidence that you recently added air to that tire. Also, you did check the pressure with a gauge before filling it up, right?

Your brake pads are going. On newer cars the pads are designed to screech when they wear thin, as a warning for you to change them. This is a good thing because it alerts you to change the pads, which is relatively inexpensive, as opposed to continuing to drive on worn pads until they wear down to bare metal, and ruin your brake rotors, (very expensive).

Note: when you take your car in for service, pretend you know what the problem is. Don't ask them, just tell them you need pads. This will tell the dishonest mechanic that might otherwise use your ignorance of automechanics to soak ur pocketbook for things you dont need done. Also, be sure and ask for your old parts (even if you take them around the corner and put them in the dumpster). You can take the old parts to a friend that knows mechanics and have them inspected to be sure the parts were really worn out, or the parts really came off your car. Trust me, there are a lot of mechanics that will take advantage of a person (male or female) that doesnt know much about cars. Stick with the dealership because they have to protect their reputation more than the smaller shops.

That has nothing to do with your right front tire; that scraping sound is your brake pads getting worn down to the metal portion and it's getting in contact with your brake rotor and the brake caliper.
You mentioned that this has been going on for a week now? Then both front brake pads and front brake rotors need to be replaced NOW! Resurfacing the right front brake rotor (and getting new brake pads for the front brakes) will throw off the balance of the car during deceleration.
It also won't hurt to check your wheel alignment, have your tires rotated and check the tire wear on all four tires. Unaligned wheels and uneven tire wear also contribute to unbalanced brakes and rapid brake wear.

Sounds like you need new brakes. You could ask around to your friends if they know someone honest that could put new ones on. That will be cheaper than going to a dealership. I would call autozone, advance auto, napa autoparts, etc......and find out how much for the parts, then you'll know how much someone is charging you for labor. A good friend should do it for about $20. Good luck babe.

Sounds like brake pads replace both at same time less than $100

brake is probably rubbing up against your brake calipers. too much weight on that side of the car from being deflated probably. you could just bring it in for an inspection/estimate and just leave when u find out the price and go shop around

You need to replace the front brake pads now, if you wait it will be a LOT more expensive......

metal scraping usually indicates worn brake pads -- get it fixed soon or it may cause rotor damage
