Your problem is probably either a stick of RAM has gone bad (especially if it's the only stick you have), or it needs to be reseated (pressed down on both ends), or your motherboard's battery has failed, which is the most likely, given the age of the computer.

You need to know what motherboard you have.
One beep usually indicates RAM failure. Try to unplug and plug the RAMs back.
When the monitor or video card fail usually you'll have more than one beeps. When CPU fails there is no beep at all... Pretty sure that you have faulty RAMs (it is usually one long beep).
For exact meaning of the beep consult your mother board manual or manufacturer.
Hope this helps
P.S don't this if you're not sure what I am talking about. I am not responsible for consequences. You can screw your motherboard or video card, or processor. Whatever... take it to a professional if you are uncertain about how to do that. I think your hardware is under warranty.
Thanks

i think you have some problem with the ram. Just open the system and remove the ram and refit the ram properly then if it gives only one beep the Ur system ram is properly fit.
