usually the local garages charge by the hour. So whatever the rate is in your area, just add the price of the starter plus 1 hours worth of labor. Average is $75 per hour. The starter itself if you, were to do it yourself, runs about $75 and the core charge will be refunded once you return the old starter. Try calling or go to www.autozone.com. There you will get the cost of your starter and detailed instructions on how to remove and install that starter.
Good Luck

What TBI? 5.0L TBI or 5.7L TBI or 7.4L TBI?

If you do it yourself, $65 - $150 depending on where you live and what's available.

If you take it to a dealership the price will be even more because you will have to pay labor; that is estimated $200 - $250, again depending on where you live.

Check out www.autozone.com so you can get a correct list for your zip code and make/model of your truck.
