Two years ago I fainted, the doctors told me I had pools of blood in my legs. I have never been physically the same since then. I am 16 and not obesse, but yet I can not run the length of a football field without being totally exausted. Almost everytime I stand up from a sitting position, I get a wave of dizyness and my vision is distorted for a few seconds. My dad recently had a brain tumor removed, so I may be in a bad disposition. Can brain tumors cause fainting? How about diabeties, I have not been tested for that, could that be possible? I know I should consault a doctor, but we can't really afford it and I do not want to concern my parents since they are overwhelmed with my father's tumor removal. What can I do to prevent pre-fainting symptoms? Any help is great.

Yes brain tumor could cause fainting but chances are if was a tumor it would have killed you by now since its been going on for 2 years. I think doctors told you the blood pooled in your legs not you have pools of blood in your legs. Yes if seated for a while this can happen but it is usually not in a person as young as you. It could also be diabetes and its a simple inexpensive test. Could be low blood pressure, could be alot. Consult a doctor, I don't think you can afford not too! Would your family be better off with your health going down the tubes because you didn't want to upset them after dads problems? Does this only happen certain times of the month? Could be hormonal, see a doctor please. I would be more concerned with my heart then a tumor. We have no history on you, not sure if you are M or F, drug user, smoker, etc.

Sweetheart, don't worry about upsetting anyone. You really do need to have your doctor take a look at you.
I am a nurse. I know.
Considering your vascular problems that you have had in the past, you should tell your mother right away.
Just simple stress could bring on these symptoms or you could be experiencing empathetic symptoms. Our emotions can cause us to feel the same symptoms as a loved one. That is very common but you still need to see your doctor JUST in case.
Can you imagine how devestated your parents would be if they lost you? A lot more upsetting than your having a check up.
Think about it.
Please, sweetie, tell your mother about it and don't worry. It's probably nothing.
I know they will check your thyroid though, to make sure THAT is not causing it.
If it is, that is easily treated with medication. In teens it is common for the thyroid to start functioning properly on it's own after taking medication for it for awhile.
You'll be fine. I doubt HIGHLY that it is anything serious.
Take care of yourself. Tell your mother. Okay?

Feinting is usually causes by a lack of oxygen flow to the brain. That can be caused by about a 16 million different things. No one can diagnose you over the internet.
See a doctor.

ARE YOU EATING RIGHT. ALOT OF TEENAGERS ARE SO BUSY OR STRESSED THEY FORGET THE MOST IMPORTANT THING.....EATING. SOMETHING THAT HELPS SOME FAINTING EPISODES IS TO SIT FOR A FEW MINUTES WHEN FIRST GETTING UP,DANGLE YOUR LEGS, THEN RISE SLOWLY. IF SYMPTOMS PERSIST OR
TO REDUCE YOUR ANXIETY, SEE A DOCTOR. ALSO, I THINK TELLING YOUR PARENTS SHOULD BE AT THE TOP OF YOUR LIST, THEIR SMART AND KNOW YOU BETTER THAN ANYONE AND EVEN THOUGH
MONEY MAY SEEM LIKE A BIG THING TO YOU, I KNOW YOUR PARENTS WOULD RATHER YOU CONSULT A DOCTOR, THAN ASK STRANGERS TO DIAGNOSE YOU. STAY WELL AND GOD BLESS. KS

you sound so worried, firstly calm down a little bit because stress can contribute to fainting spells. best thing to do is consult a neurologist and get a MRI/CT scan where they map your brain, thats one place a lot of fainting answers lie, other than that have a blood profile down, wherein they look for everything possible. you are young, even if its something serious you will get past it, relax and be positive. god bless.
