Ever since I can remember, I have rocked myself to sleep by laying on my side, and sort of gently moving back and forth. I would only do this occasionally, though. However, since I've been pregnant, I've noticed that I've been doing it more and more. Now, every single time I lie down, I have to rock myself to feel comfortable, to soothe myself.

I'm wondering: is this weird? Does anyone else do this, and does pregnancy have anything to do with me "rocking"?

It just seems like such an odd thing to develop so quickly.

Don't worry you're not strange,I've been rocking myself since before my first child and now I have four, and its been 20 years. If it comforts you and makes you sleep easier by all means do it.You will probably do it even more after the baby is born, he/she will love it! Good Luck.

it's just a comfort thing. did your mom used to rock you to sleep when you were a baby? you're going through a lot of changes with the pregnancy and this just sounds like a coping mechanism. i don't see any harm but if it bothers you, you can talk to a counselor or therapist to find other ways to cope.

i mean...i've never been pregnant...but i would say that that really isn't weird at all. maybe it's just a habit that your comfortable with....if you get problems though...maybe talk to someone like a doctor. Hope everything works out great! =)
