HItler miraculously, resurrected the nation of Germany from economic depression from WWI. And started the 3rd reich, the 1st reich was the Holy Roman Empire, a continuation of the Roman Empire, which was partially controlled by the Pope, this lasted until the 19th century, the second reich was a Ruling Dynasty from the 19th century until it's defeat at WWI. Hitler manipulated this History of Germanian Rule further by coming up with the idea of the Arian race, supposedly of alien heritage, who had visited mankind several times and built the wonders of the world and were supposed to have been the world's Greatest Leaders and other miraculous events all involved them. The furvour that this created led to the great archeological expeditions of the Germans to "rightfully" claim "their" Arian heritage. yada yada yada everyone else is worth less than dogs and brainwashed everyone into demented thinking, if you had any ideas of your own you were an enemy of the state and killed or worse yet. This is what led a nation to an unhealthy amount of nationalism, thinking that it was the best country in the world because they were of the Arian race, and didn't consider that someone else would have a problem with them walking next door and helping themselves to whatever they wanted to, and of course kill everyone who would not proclaim allegiance to their great ruler The born savior of Resurectted Germany, with a Messiah Complex. Interesting enough is the Catholic church involvement with the Natzi movement on one side blessing the German war machine and its ruler as it had in the previous 2 reichs. On the opposite side of the fence clergy blessed the American efforts to stop the Natzi invasion. These two were fighting and obviuosly not talking to each other so whoever won would be on the church's side. Did the pope of today do all he could have to help back in Natzi Germany? He joined the Hitler Youth movement and when he didn't agree with where it was going, instead of saying something walked away to become a priest.
HIstory lesson to learn:
Nationalism only leads down dark paths, fight it, we are a world community sharing this planet, Jesus told us to love our neighbor not shoot the ones we don't like.

I learned that WW2 was more or less an extension of WW1 as WW1 ended with the Germans in such a crapper that they were so full of resentment and frustration that war, as some form of retaliation, was inevitable. In other words, without WW1, there would be no WW2.
And the Nazis had started claiming land... part of I believe Austria and Czechoslavakia, which went against the peace treaty from WW1, ... before the invasion of Poland. But the invasion brought the war to reality.
That's not much, but I hope it helps.
