You could get other illnesses when you get older.

Shingles

Herpes zoster, colloquially known as shingles, is the reactivation of varicella zoster virus, leading to a crop of painful blisters over the area of a dermatome. In Italy and in Malta, it is sometimes referred to as St. Anthony's fire. It occurs very rarely in children and adults, but its incidence is high in the elderly (over 60), as well as in any age group of immunocompromised patients. It affects some 500,000 people per year in the United States. Treatment is generally with antiviral drugs such as aciclovir. Many patients develop a painful condition called postherpetic neuralgia which is often difficult to manage.

In some patients, herpes zoster can reactivate subclinically with pain in a dermatomal distribution without rash. This condition is known as zoster sine herpete and may be more complicated, affecting multiple levels of the nervous system and causing multiple cranial neuropathies, polyneuritis, myelitis, or aseptic meningitis.

The word herpes comes from the Greek word for snake; it is cognate with herpetology[1].

Chicken pox is caused by the varicella zoster virus which is a herpes virus.

It is quite unpleasant but if you do not have other medical conditions then you should ride the storm. It seems to be more severe in babies and the elderly. If you have a medical condition or cancer etc are on steroids for other reasons then you need to be covered by an antiviral drug called acyclovir.

There is no specific treatment. There are various preparations to make you more comfortable during the infection though.

Usually you only have chickenpox once in a life time although there have been repeat cases reported.
There are certain complications that may occur including chest infections and skin infections because of the itching and scratching.

Some sequelae include shingles and this applies for any age group and this is because the virus stays dormant inside you and can be reactivated

Nothing, really. If you were otherwise healthy, you should be able to deal with it without much problems. Only, be careful that your lesions do not get infected. When the bullae erupt, thay leave your skin open providing easier entry of bacteria into your system. Another possible complication would be pneumonia, but it is uncommon if you were healthy before the chicken pox.

Also, try to be considerate of other people. Avoid going out in public for maybe more than a week. You are contagious until all the lesions have crusted over. If you pass it on to a pregnant woman, she and her baby may be in big trouble, especially if she is just in her 1st trimester. Even non pregnant people who have already had chickenpox in the past may be at risk for developing shingles when they get exposed to you.

If you can't turn to family for help, and friends aren't an option, All i can suggest is a baby sitter. They cost money, but if you investigate, i'm sure you'll find a reasonable one. For the long term, is the relationship with your mother salvageable? Your daughter has two sets of grandparents so it would be nice if she could have a relationship with at least one of them. Also try joining a mother and baby group or something to make friends, and make you a little less isolated. It may also provide you with women in the same boat, and lead to some great friendships, which may help ease the burden of being a knackered parent, as there'll be someone else to turn to. Short term, if the babysitter option is out, can you settle your daughter down early one night, or occupy her with her toys and a dvd in her room? Perhaps then you could arrange a romantic evening with your partner? It may be easier on a night where you're less tired!

I got clinically diagnosed with herpes (type 2) about 6 years back, while I was still attending college and had a mindless one-night stand. I realize loads of girls will declare this, but I swear I had certainly not done that sort of thing before. I just made a massive mistake that one time and suddenly it seemed like I was going to have to live with the consequences for the rest of my life. The hardest part was feeling I could never date guys again. After all, who wants to go out with someone that has sores around her private parts? But since a friend shared this movie https://tr.im/cgWMl everything improved.

Not only was I able to eliminate all remnants of the herpes simplex virus from my body in less than three weeks, but I was also able to begin dating again. I even met the guy of my dreams and I'm so fortunate to write that just last week, in front of everyone in a busy cafe, he got down on one knee and proposed to me! This method gave me back the opportunity to be happy and experience true love. Now I want to help you too by sharing this with the whole World.

U will be very sick and have horrible sores that itch. They will break out on your stomach or back first and then spread to the rest of your body. Use oatmeal baths to help with the itching and get a prescription of Atarax if the oatmeal baths don't work. U need to let the doctor know if u have them at that age. That is a childhood disease that usually shows up at 3-6 years of age not past your teenage years. I would definitely have it checked out and make sure u don't have poison ivy or something like that.

Um, you itch and scratch just like the kids do. I gave it to my mom when she was 28 and I was 8.

Answer: The same thing that happens when you get it as a kid. The virus retreats into your spinal nerves; and later on a happening that causes your immune system to get down can make it reappear as shingles.
