For me it's that first cup of coffee in the morning, a nap on a warm summer day with the fan on, my down comforter on a cold night.

oh its definitely that first cup of coffee! as well as the smell of a spring day, gazing at the stars at night, watching my flowers and plants grow, smiling at total strangers especially those that seem like they could use a greeting like when I visit the seniors in the nursing home, snuggling with my dogs, my dogs greeting me when I get home, icicles hanging from the trees on an early quiet morning in the winter time... a child's smile and wave as I pass by in the grocery store, waving some one on to get in front of me when traffic is backed up, Christmas lights during the holidays, a nice cold glass of water on a hot summer day, as well as a cool shower on the same type of day snuggling under my blankets and hugging my pillows , sleeping late on occasion, chocolate, an ice cream cone,a good book,a good joke, an intelligent conversation... a nice meal, a hug... hearing or reading good news in the world..watching a wild rabbit or deer running across my lawn...spending time with family and friends... and plenty of other things... there are so many wonderful things in life !

Laying alone in a dark room late at night with my favuorite music playing and just reflecting. its like the world has stopped, and its pure me time, everyone is asleep, i'm not missing anything and the only appointment i have before going to sleep is going upstairs to bed.
holding hands with my lover and walking through a strange town or foreign country where we are not known, again it feels like time has stood still and you can just enjoy the moment.

OOh, and climmbing into a freshly made bed, the feeling of clean sheets and covers when on own and you can just sprawl, bliss.

when something unexpected makes me genuinely smile, i love the feeling you get when you cannot supress a smile it can be something really small and trivial, but it feels for a moment that you know the secret to happiness.

When I am doing something in the kitchen or bathroom and my husband comes up and puts his hand on the small of my back while he's doing something else; waking up to find my dog snuggled up to my chest with just her nose poking out of the blankets; a child laughing when they don't know anyone is looking; putting on a pair of pants that have been through the wash and finding a dollar bill in them; the smell of a new book; a t-shirt that's so old the cotton is as soft and broken in as flannel...I could go on and on :)

A good question. Many of my pleasures were available in prehistoric times. sea food, barbecued meat, fruit, wine, lying in a warm dry bed listening to the rain outside, swimming in hot springs, kids, friends, dope, flowers, walking along the beach...

Music, kids laughing, the smell of roses, the beach, a cool breeze on a hot day, white fluffy clouds.

Silence, fresh air lightly scented with pine, the taste of freshly squeezed lemonade, good smells.
