I got a ticket for cross over solid double yellow lines. I went to court to set a date to fight it. Do you think i shouldve done it? I heard that if you fight a ticket and the cop doesnt show up, i win the case. So i get my money back. But if i lose i still pay the ticket and get the point. Or if the judge lets me take traffic skool then its ok. So do you think i should take the chance of fighting it and the cop not showing up? Cause if he shows up i got nothing to say cause i got no evidence. Or what do you guys think i should say or do? I didnt think twice before i said i plead not guilty so...idk

Don't fight it. You should have known better than to cross those lines, and someone could have been badly hurt because of your indiscretion. Also, IIRC, you might face additional fines or fees to cover the costs of having a judge hear your case. He may also make you take a class or something (although you might benefit from one, if you made that mistake). In your case, I'd just pay the ticket and be more careful next time. Good luck!

Fight it. You have nothing to lose. I have heard there's about a 20-30 percent chance that the cop won't show up. That's good enough for me. My wife just got a chickenshiit ticket. She's going to fight it as well.

It couldn't hurt to try and fight it. It's true, a lot of times the officer doesn't show up.

If you win, great. If you lose, you would have had to pay it anyway.

Just have a reason why you're fighting it. Perhaps that you didn't know it was illegal (they hear that a lot). Or that the lines weren't marked well (have a photograph). Or that the lighting wasn't good enough to see the lines (bring proof).
