Hi.

Let me start by saying, I am going to answer your question in a professional manner as accurately as I can as a reptile enthusiast. I am getting a little put off with the "experts" on Yahoo! answers offering opinions to questions rather than answers. Or just as annoying, the people who write, "I don't know."

To the best of my knowledge: The Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission do NOT have any laws prohibiting the ownership of American Alligators. Unless you release it into the wild. Therefore there is no permit needed by the state to keep this type of animal. Though your specific town may have an ordinance against certain animals it sees as dangerous.

An alligator cannot be tamed or trained at all. Even the wild Fēlidae's and Canidae's can at least be partially trained. Do you wanna go for it?

I don't think so. I heard of one that got loose/put in the Beaver River and caused some problems.

No, you can't even have a dead one unless you have the correct permits..
