how do you do the diet coke and mentos thing?

how do they do it when like the videos on the internet show some guying throwing a bottle of diet coke on the ground really hard and then it goes flying really high into the air?

Open up a 2 liter bottle of coke, drop in a whole package of Mentos, and shake. Open it with caution and watch the water fireworks beautify the sky!

Take a 2 liter bottle of diet coke and bunch of mentos...drop the mentos into the diet coke bottle...close the top and throw i guess.

I've never seen that, but if you want to see the pop exploding from the bottle, open the bottle, create a funnel out of paper, put it in the top of the bottle, add mentos (2 or 3 is good), and get the hell out of the way.
