I would like to hear from people around the world. Will you wait to prepare at the last minute or think about preparing now?

The bird flu has not been spread outside Asia yet to my knowledge. It is possible from research studies of the Bird Flu that it could become airborne, spread through breathing, if that happens, a world panic would occur. Hopefully it doesn't and researchers will find a cure for it.

Personally, I'm not overly concerned about bird flu resulting in millions of deaths in the First World, where I live.
If I lived in the Third World, I'd be VERY concerned about it, and would do all I could to prepare.
I remember the Hong Kong flu scares of the '70s, and the fears that AIDS would move into the heterosexual population of the First World. Neither of those happened.
The reason why so many people in Europe and America died of influenza in the first part of the 20th century is because they lived in crowded, filthy cities. Public sanitation in the First World has improved by leaps and bounds since then.

The bird flu epidemic come eventually but as they have yet to find any terribly effective means of preventing it and there are no means of curing it, worrying isn't going to help.

I just find it funny that people think that because we don't live in a 3rd world country we won't be affected here. AIDS made it here and transmitting it is more difficult than the flu.

Oh and in 2005 the more dangerous strains expanded from their typical fowl to include more new species thanks to migratory fowl.

The question is not if but when.

I am still in denial of the bird flu. I guess I'll be the first one dead, right. They've been saying killer bees would take over America for years... i still see no bees. It's just a way for the scientists to feel good about themselves. Well good for them, but I'm not convinced.

I feel uncomfortable about this subject. It could involve a very large area in very many places once it got started.

I feel that the dark forces are trying to put us in fear. There is nothing to fear but fear itself and if you don't fear it then it can't happen.
