windows has more programmers programming for it, but the mac is more stable, unless you put the windows emulator on it, then you could run into problems depending on the emulator. but you can also get a mac emulator for windows so the software don't matter any more, Microsoft is working on longhorn, it is going to run mac, windows, Linux, etc. now if you had ask about windows or Linux there is freedows (cost about $150) that will run both. i am looking in to Linux myself, well having dual boot or getting freedows.

if you haven't seen it yet everything is becoming open source, so if you learn how to program you can make any program you want too and you can clone almost all software with all the features you can add to your own programs. You can learn how to program from the Internet and there are free programming languages that you can down load, so why do you need to change operating systems. there are sights out that teach you how to make your own operating system if you want or even your own emulator for windows or Linux or mac.

Macintosh is the most proprietary system on the planet, not to mention that it runs less than half of all programs. The problem with Macs is, games aren't created for it first, they are translations from PCs with guess what? Windows. Windows supports many forms of hardware and software which the expensive macs simply can't. For those who bug about viruses, unless you go to untrusted and suspicious sites, you shouldn't really get many, if any, viruses. Besides, what much is there to life if Mac has to do everything for us?

theres no viruses, but i think that has a lot to do with the fact that nobody cares about macs. there are some programs that they have that are better, but they're still not the standard. if they were the giant company that windows is, then someone would find a way to create viruses for them, but in the mean time, who'd care enough to bother?

Um,ba, hahaha! Both Mac and Windows can catch viruses.

both are kludges and guzzle too much central memory.

More people are using Windows and it is the "Standard," so I'd say go with Windows unlless you are in an academic environment were Mac is the standard.

It depends what you are wanting to use the computer for. Macs are great for multimedia, art, film, music, and other artsy things. While windows are more used for business applications, games, and other non-artsy applications and uses.
