This is a cyber format. That is, it's annoymous. People get mean when it can't be proven that it's -them-. Why else do people in chat rooms ask for pics like that? They woudln't do it in real life, but online... "It's not ME if it can't be PROVEN it's me." Sad but true...

I think that it's the shock value that some people get off on. Or, they're trying desperately to be cool or funny - and missing - terribly!!! Yahoo Answers is not a stage to try out your amateur act on, but I do believe that some people use it for that. Sad, huh? Also, some people just like to be heard - even if they know nothing about the subject matter at hand; and being rude helps to cover up that ignorance quotient!!!

I think people mean to be rude when you just ask them even a simple question like "how're you today", you get it back! Its rude when it becomes a racist war of words. Isn't that very true?
I understand your circumstances as well but, when it comes to just getting rude off a person just in a matter of a few minutes, I think it is still very crude and awful when people just ask you to basically piss off! That's not just being a slight sarcastic pig but it just makes the person answering back a smart ***! God knows why?

I think people are rude on here because of the anonymity. You can say something rude without any repercussions. Personally, I'm only rude to people that ask stupid questions or ones that don't deserve a serious answer.

i agree with you. when i ask a simple question, i would like a nice answer. not some rude one that doesnt even answer my question. i guess some people just have to be rude towards other people.

I've noticed that also. I think it's because there is anonimity involved. If people don't know who the answerer is, the answerer becomes more bold.

Because these people dont have the abililty to actually stop and think. Therefore, they do not know how to answer responsibly, and maturely. Good Point!

They do...but won't--because they find themselves humerous and/or contempt...ignore them-they don't put food on your table....they're meaningless!
However, you must admit that some of these questions are begging for sarcasm & what not.......
