What are you calling the "tip"?

Most (Bosch type) injectors have a flange on the end, with an O ring which seals the injector to the head, or manifold. This part look like full brimmed hat with a hole in the middle. It will move, and even come off, sometimes even staying in the engine when the injector is pulled out. Make sure it is clean, and it can be put back on. Always use new O rings when replacing injectors.

Do you mean the tip of the injector when it metering fuel? If so yes it has a duty cycle which is controlled by the ecm. (computer)A duty cycle 30 /70 would mean 30 percent of the time its closed and 70 percent open. Remember injectors a n.c (normally closed).
