no i dont suggest you to use both the rams bcz 512 ram is 33mhz and 124 ram is 133mhz the data transfer rate is different in both the rams. your system will be hanged frequently so. dont use both.

Depends on your motherboard.
It is possible to mix and match. Just throw your 512 in and start it up. See if it sees all 512. if so shut the computer down and add the 128 to the next slot. Again start it up and see if the computer sees the memory.
Company type does not matter but speed does and type do. If 1 stick is say 266 and the other is faster both will just go 266.
There are different types of memory too. Not to drag it out anymore (saying its not to late!) You cannot mix say ECC memory and non ECC memory.
However since it only takes a few short minutes to add the momory and see I'l just throw it in and see what the computer reports as having.

Yes, if their types are the same. For instance, if both of them are DDR and with the same speed like 400Mhz. But probably, yours might be different.
On the other hand, even if it works, i don't recommend such a combination, because it doesn't make your computer's performance increase because of the incompability between memories and might cause your computer lock frequently.

I read somewhere that if you have a small ram size such as "128MB" and a big size such as "512MB" the computer will only use the 128mb unless they are both the smae size but windows will identify it has a whole like 640MB or osmething.

You can, assuming your motherboard supports it. You'll want to check with your motherboard manufacturer to ensure two things:
1. It supports different sizes, and
2. The maximum amount of ram it supports, as well as the maximum size on a single chip it supports.

As long as the RAM chips is compatible with your computer it should be fine. The chips do not have to be the same size.

Of course, all that matters is that it is the same type (DIMM, SDRAM) and the same speed. Go to www.kingston.com to find the correct RAM for your system.
