How can you tell the gender of your baby without an ultrasound. Isnt there some old wives tales about things like that. Well i was reading a website which said if you sleep more than usual its a girl. With my first i slept all the time and sure enough it was a girl, but i want to know if any of you have any other idea how to tell.

I have heard that if your having a boy your nose gets wider and flatter (your face changes shape slightly) and if your having a girl you get bad skin and hair (because the girl is said to take all her prettiness from her mummy). Also heard that girls are carried lower and boys are carried higher, so if your having a girl you don't look so much like a beach ball with legs! (this one was true for me). There is also another old wives tale about putting your wedding ring, or engagement on a string and holding it over your stomach - if it swings backwards & forwards its a boy, or in a circle (clockwise or anticlockwise) its a girl. Also if you crave sweet food its a girl, and savory its a boy. These are all old wives tales I heard throughout my pregnancy, so really the only way to know for 100% is wait till its born!

They say you can tell by the rate of the baby's heartbeat. I asked my o.b. about this and she said it was an old wives tale, but I believe it's true. They say girls will have a faster heart beat 170's-180's and boys have slower ones about 140's-150's. At my first appt. the heartbeat was 148, I called my mom told what the heartbeat was and all she could say was your having a boy! Sure enough I gave birth to a baby boy just a few months ago.

There's one theory that if the baby rides high it's a boy and if it rides low its a girl. I think, it might be switched around. Although this has never been proven to be true and is most likely an old wives tale.

Im Hispanic ...so these are "Mexican Tales" as i call them. First one says if your tummy is up high then its a girl and if its down low its a boy. Second one is to get two chairs, 1 fork and 1 spoon and two pillows. Get someone to put a fork under one pillow on the chair and the spoon under the other pillow on the chair. Then you come out and sit on one of the chairs without giving it much thought (go with your first instinct) and if you sit on the fork, its a boy and on the spoon its a girl!! Third one is find an old mexican lady and ask her...she'll know...or atleast she will convince you that she knows!!

hi, to know the gender of your baby, there is one chinese gender chart available and you can search the chart with the help of yahoo search. go through the chart and find out the child gender. you need to provide ur age and ur month of conception, else the other way is to take an ultra sound scan, in India, sex determination is an offense, and even the scan wont say about the sex. so we tried chinese gender chart only, it si true for 80% to 90%. go ahead

some people believes that if your tummy is rounder, it's a boy. if it's more oblong, then it's a girl. if you refuse to use ultrasound, you could check via heartbeats as well, or hormone level test. the more rapid the heartbeat is a girl and it goes the same with a higher level of oestrogen in your blood/urine.

The most accurate way of course of knowing your babies sex, that's 100%, is when you deliver your baby. Next best way is an ultrasound. Everything else mentioned for determining your baby's sexy are only myths.

there's something about how you carry it too, if it is low then it is a boy, if you are carrying high, it is a girl that is about 90% accurate. good luck
