i hasn't opened in a while because it closed about 7 years ago. i helped clean it out. i don't know if they were intending to reopen it, but i think they ran out of money. i imagine the building is still there, because it's historic and whatnot, but i don't know that there has been any theatre there for a while.
sorry i can't be of more help.

Because the American government doesn't think that the arts are important enough to support.

The Stratford was a great theatre which did world-class productions of Shakespeare. And now it sits empty. I believe one can still go to see it; walk around and cry, one assumes.

If some producer were to put a fraction of the money that is ploughed into yet another Mission Impossible movie into renovating the Stratford and producing plays again, the world would be a better place.

Honey, get accustomed to being lied to - that's show biz!

In your opinion, the actress that got the part is not very good, you're not an industry professional.

You don't know what the director looked for in the part - it may not be acting, it may be the way she looks, how she handled herself, if there was a personal interview, what she said, what she was wearing, her haircut, her shoes.

She may remind him of his/her favorite cousin, or, sister..

There are too many "liitle" things that go into casting, too many variables, unrelated to acting and/or talent, are considered.

You have to learn to roll with the punches, if you want to be in the business.

They have to say something to you, other than "thank you for coming."

You would be more upset if they told you to forget acting and get a job as a babysitter.

You have to learn to "never have your heart set on a part."
Acting is hard, rejection is harder. Get accustomed to both!
