traps same as always, just make sure you put them where the kids can not reach them, or only set them for at night when the kids are a sleep. there are also live traps available that are like metal boxes with spring loaded doors with a clock work mechanism. these are a closed box,not open mesh like the havahart style of live trap. Why are you getting mice is another question, are you leaving food for the mice , do you have piles of waste material like old wood or metal around that they can live in and how much long grass is ther around the house, it should be mowed short. Rodent control matters. Mice carry Hanta Virus which is a potentially lethal lung infection and if you live in the USA west of New York and south of Montana there are pockets of bubonic plague still happening in the wild rodent population

I had a little cat until just the other day and he was an excellent mouser. I noticed he would sometimes miss them and they would hide under the fridge or stove where we couldnt reach. I didn't want him to swallow poison or a poisoned mouse or get hurt from a mousetrap so I bought these plasttic traps they are just as effective as the wire/spring ones but dont hurt too much if they spring on you. They also slide straight off if a little one tried to pull it off their fingers. My cat used to put his hand inside it for the fun of it! Hope this helps. They are also great traps because you never have to touch the mouse when you get rid of it. Of course the 'humane' version is available but do you know someone with a snake? And it doesn't really decrease vermin by relocation does it now? Hope you find a solution!

One you can get mouse traps. and the second you can get a cat. Cats are natural mousers. My cat has kept my house free of mice now for a long time. I think last year she caught about 8 of them. I had also put out mouse traps which caught mice and she even bought those to me. Just have to keep the kids away from the traps. Put the traps behind a sofa or table where the kids can't get to them. If you can't get a trap out because when they do snap some times they flip. Take a coat hanger and use the hook to get it. It works.

we have mice running around may dads work shop. I leave the lid off of a bin with some dog biscuits in the bottom. lean a broom next to the bin so the mice can get in. once they are in the bin they cant get out. then u can ether kill em , or feed em to something or relocate em

Mouse traps. They may sting little fingers, but won't do any damage. Also you should put the traps in mouse places not baby places.
And more power to you, MOM, you are doing an important job, raising kids.

borrow a ferret or two for a bit...but you have to ferret proof the rooms. I would be easier to set traps and pick them up when the kids are up, try baiting the traps with peanut butter.

I like using live traps so I can just take them somewhere else and let them go (or give them to friends with snakes) and don't have to deal with carcasses.
